The Pigskin Gala Committee is busy with final preparations for  Pigskin Gala XXIX, America’s Greatest High School Football Tailgate Party.

These preparations include the making of the sausage, the brewing of the, um, coffee, and the ritualistic rubbing of the Robert Buttomer (QHS ’88) with baby oil.

The Pigskin Gala begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning at Pageant Field in Historic Quincy, Mass., overlooking Wollaston Beach and the Boston Harbor Islands. We will offer an amazing breakfast buffet with homemade bacons and sausage, fresh-made corned beef hash from our friend Jay Hajj of Mike’s City Diner in Boston, the No. 1 rated diner in all of Massachusetts, plus beverages, games, music, feats of strength and general frivolity. 


The party is followed by the 84th annual Quincy-North Quincy Thanksgiving Day football game, which kicks off at 10 a.m.

Pigskin Gala XXIX is for the first time part of Alumni Week in Quincy activities that will raise money to support all three city high schools, Quincy High, North Quincy High and The Woodward School, and that has been organized by Friends of the Gala Walter Hubley and Scott Campbell.
